Our Beta Glucan comes in a small, plant-based capsule and is very easy to swallow. However, if for whatever reason (e.g. pets, small children) you need to open the capsule that is perfectly fine. Beta Glucan has a very distinct, bitter taste and is not very pleasant, but it can be mixed with water or juice to make it easier to swallow. The most important thing is that you’re taking the Beta Glucan.

This is a very, very, simple process. We get this question all of the time from people who have difficulty swallowing the caplets. Perhaps they have a problem with Gag Reflex, or it may be a small child who is not able to consume the Beta Glucan Capsule with ease.
To access the powder inside the capsule, you simply open it and dump it out. Now, it doesn’t taste incredibly delicious, hence the encapsulated form: it is rather plain. In addition, you want to be sure that you are getting an exacted dose, that becomes a little difficult when broken apart.
You can if you want. I’m not exactly sure why you would like to do it. The taste of the glucan, particularly if it is a yeast glucan, is slightly bitter, usually. If it’s a mushroom glucan it might have a little bit of a smell of mushrooms. It is not something which you would say “it’s tough to swallow.” But it’s not exactly the most pleasurable thing, so it’s easier to swallow the pill. The European manufacturers usually have the hard pill, not the soft pill. It is more the tradition than anything else. You can break it and put it into your water or something like that and eat it, if you have a problem swallowing pills.
